Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback therapy (giving info to the body so it can change its own patterns). It uses electrodes to read the levels of activity in various regions of the brain. Significant research allows me to compare this information to the brains of many other people to understand which parts of the brain are working to their potential and which parts may be struggling to meet their potential (through overactivity, under-activity, or disorganized activity). The intervention then targets these parts of the brain and uses (audio or visual feedback) to nudge that part of the brain to increase or decrease responsiveness. The feedback helps individuals to "change their own brains". There is a lot of evidential support for the use of neurofeedback as a modality to support people who are struggling with brain injuries, ADHD, sleep disturbances, and depression/anxiety to name a few.
